そんな彼が、1963年にロンドンの老舗ジャズ・クラブ、ロニー・スコッツにて自身にピアノ、ベース、ドラムを加えたカルテット編成で行なった際のライヴ音源がパッケージ化された。

オリジナル音源とスタンダード・ナンバーを織り混ぜた全4曲を収録しており、中でもカークによるデューク・エリントン「Angelica (feat. John Coltrane) 」の演奏は唯一存在する録音となっている。また、バンド・メンバーは、ピアノにスタン・トレイシー、ベースにマルコム・セシル、そしてドラムにロニー・ステファンソンと、当時の英国ジャズをリードするミュージシャンばかり。
